With approximately 3,900 employees and 65 manufacturing and distribution facilities worldwide, we manufacture electrical conduit, cable management systems, armored cable, metal framing, and security products and solutions.Who we are looking forOur Global Construction Services (GCS) strategic business unit is looking for an Engineer who will be responsible to develop and enhance existing products and introduce new products from an engineering perspective to be suitable to our customers specific needs. What youll do Plan and modify product configurations to meet customer needs. Confer with customers and engineers to assess product needs and to determine system requirements. Consult or negotiate with clients to prepare project specifications. Collaborate with sales teams to understand customer requirements, to promote the sale of company products and to provide sales support. Develop, present or respond to proposals for specific customer requirements including request for proposal responses and industry specific solutions. Assist in providing information related to tenders for projects and the like. Diagnose problems with manufactured or installed products and make recommendations for improvement/ rectification. What youll bring Professional engineer with tertiary qualifications (preferably Mechanical) and broad engineering experience in an appropriate field for a minimum of 5 years. Strong management, organisational and planning ability. Strong skills using Engineering systems. Strong knowledge of Quality Systems standards/ practices, local Standards and determination of conformance. Development milestones Within 3 months, youll: Complete your Atkore immersion program. Develop relationships with the key stakeholders for this role. (Internal & External) Have learned the fundamentals of our companys engineering processes. Take full ownership over engineering process. Within 6 months, youll: Hold a clear understanding of our business, products, commercial structure and contributing to set, develop and execute strategies Have a strong understanding of engineering systems, processes and ability to manage them. Lead Engineering department Within 12 months, youll: Be subject matter expert in your processes. Provide suggestions for improvement to current processes that pertain to your responsibilities.
