Some overtime may be required depending on client needs. Design control systems for industrial applications Design control system changes to existing systems as needed Write technical documentation to support design activities and document work plans and work performed Design software systems for industrial applications Design software system changes to existing systems as needed Document software designs on a suitable platform Create automation programming for PLC, HMI, Historian, VFD, PC, and other automation systems that may be required Perform FAT testing in the office or at client site to a documented test plan Perform commissioning services at the client site as needed as per the commissioning schedule which will require work to be completed after hours, on weekends, and on statutory holidays from time to time Communicate effectively with the client about project progress in a manner that is consistent with the project goals and QCAs best interest Travel to client sites in other cities to perform work as required. At this time, a majority of work sites will be located on Vancouvers North Shore waterfront area. Manage time allocations for task efficiently, meet deadlines for tasks as needed, and give feedback to project managers Provide time estimates to management for work that will be performed Enter work hours and comments into the time sheet program every week, on time, as per management deadlinesQualifications 3+ years of relevant work experience; degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering from a recognized post-secondary institution 3+ years experience in PLC programming with Rockwell experience preferred Good understanding of networking and Switches is an asset Wonderware HMI Experience Flexible, able to work on occasional night shift or on-call Strong technical documentation writing skills Experience working on medium and large-scale projects Strong communication and interpersonal skills Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and collaboratively
