Position Summary:The Powder Coater is responsible for powder coating customer materials ensuring parts are painted/ coated properly according to customer specifications while meeting quality standards.Reports to:Production SupervisorJob Specific Duties & Responsibilities:Prepare customer materials for coating, verify drawings and coverage information for proper powder coatings instructions. Inspect customer materials for any pre-painting material defect prior to and during coating process.Follow all principles and practices of powder coating application.Set up and adjust manual & automatic powder guns.Efficiently operate all coating equipment including manual & automatic powder coating application systems, ensuring accurate amount of powder is applied to materials.Follow the production schedule/paint sequence on the ERP system to review production requirements and work instructions.Check on powders to ensure sufficient supply of powder is maintained to the paint booth for production run.Create and save powder recipes in automatic gun set up for standard powders & customer products. Determine paint flow and coating quality by performing visuals inspection.Perform adjustment in automatic and manual gun setting for current, air, voltage. Assess its impact on quality of powder coated material. Ensure that all materials are coated efficiently and are consistent with company established standards for quality.Participate in the colour change process including thoroughly cleaning and maintaining powder coating equipment, hoses & booth, etc.Operate the powder reclaim system and check reclaim powder. Recognize and trouble shoot problems and adjust accordingly.Report any problems with powder equipment performance/quality.Work in compliance with the provisions of the Occupational Health and Safety Act (or the Act) and the regulation.Conduct regular inspection and cleaning of all powder coating equipment including guns, nozzles, hoppers and other parts. Other duties as assigned.
