Job Title: CAD/CAM Manager Location: Ontario, Canada N8N 4W2 Duration: full-time Salary : $80k to $90k Job Summary Reporting to the Technical Manager, the CAD/CAM Manager leads the CAD/CAM department, driving continuous improvement and operational excellence in all front-end processes. This role is a key member of the management team, contributing to quoting, tooling requirements, and feasibility analysis for new products. Responsibilities include overseeing CNC programming, tooling sheets, program revision control, and providing technical support to the shop floor. Key Responsibilities Supervise, coach, and mentor CAD/CAM department staff. Manage relationships with CAD/CAM software providers. Control and maintain customer engineering data and IP at the correct revision levels. Oversee engineering changes, repair proposals, and design updates. Lead fixture development for new products; train and delegate responsibilities as needed. Create and revise CNC programs in the appropriate language for the controllers in use (e.g., Heidenhain, Fanuc). Assist directly at machines with programming and fixture troubleshooting. Participate in internal project kickoff meetings to ensure understanding of project scope and requirements. Ensure accurate and controlled job data is presented to the production floor. Improve and manage data storage and retrieval systems; train team on new systems and procedures. Provide support during the quoting process by estimating cycle times. Collaborate with the Tooling Supervisor to manage machine-specific tool databases, including material-based tooling data. Implement and manage a color-coded tolerance chart for designs and shop floor documentation. Maintain control over shop floor programs and revisions. Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, quality, profitability, and safety. Adhere to all health and safety protocols and promote a clean, safe, and organized work environment. Perform additional duties as assigned. Qualifications & Experience Minimum of 10 years experience in CAD/CAM operations for large CNC machining equipment. Strong technical knowledge of machining processes and manual programming. Proficient in Microsoft Office and ERP systems. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Experience with CAD/CAM software and CNC machinery, including Heidenhain and Fanuc controllers.
