Agilus is recruiting for a Fire Protection Specialist in the Fire Protection Service Industry in Edmonton, Alberta.This is a full-time permanent opportunity open to candidates with either entry-level, intermediate or senior experience. Our client is looking for a team player with a great work ethic willing to learn and grow - and if experienced then also willing to teach!Total rewards:Competitive salary based on experienceExcellent benefits package including a health spending account and RRSP matchingFree parking on siteA positive and healthy work culture and investment in training and developmentResponsibilities:Design automatic fire sprinkler systems in accordance with the requirements of current codes (building code & NFPA)Prepare general arrangement drawings using AutoCAD & HydraCAD/ AutoSPRINK softwareComplete hydraulic calculations utilizing HydraCAD or AutoSPRINK software to determine sprinkler head selection, piping sizes, fire pump sizesConduct fire protection assessment utilizing AFT Fathom softwareCoordinate fire protection piping layouts with other trades such as HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, Structural, etc.Prepare material orders and fabrication documents based on the fire protection drawingsReview fire protection designs prepared by others, ensuring designs are safe, efficient, effective, and practicalParticipate in project meetings with project managers & other trades for project coordinationSuccessful candidates will have some or all of the following:Being a team player with a great attitude, willing to learn and grow (and teach if senior) is a must-haveUniversity/college degree or diploma in Fire Protection (for example, CFPE, CFPS, FPT etc)Experience in mechanical, electrical, or fire protection designStrong understanding of NFPA standards, Building Code, and FM Global guidelinesWorking experience of AutoCAD, Revit and NavisworksWorking experience of HydraCAD, AutoSprink or equivalent sprinkler designWorking experience of AFT Fathom or equivalent hydraulic analysis design is an assetWorking experience of 3D drafting, BIM, Revit would be considered an assetStrong attention to detail and problem-solving skillsAbility to work independently and collaboratively in a team settingExcellent verbal and written communication skills
