(Al-Pac) is seeking an Advisor, People Services to work out of our mill site near Athabasca, Alberta. The successful candidate plays a pivotal role in providing HR support and guidance to team members and leaders. The primary purpose of this role is to assist in the implementation of HR programs, policies, and initiatives that align with organizational goals and promote employee engagement, development, and retention. By partnering closely with business leaders and HR colleagues, the HR Advisor ensures the delivery of effective HR services, including recruitment, team member relations, performance management, training, and compliance. The role also involves providing HR expertise and advice to address employee concerns, resolve issues, and foster a positive work environment. Ultimately, the HR Advisor contributes to building a high-performing and inclusive workplace culture that supports the achievement of business objectives and enhances the overall employee experience at Al-Pac Forest Industries. Role Responsibilities Team Member Relations Serve as a point of contact for team member inquiries and concerns. Provide direction as appropriate or escalate when needed. Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on team member relations issues, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and performance management. Recruitment and Selection Assist in the recruitment process by conducting interviews and coordinating including offer letter drafting. Manage the apprenticeship registration process and oversee evaluations at mid-year and end of year. Team Member Orientation, Onboarding & Offboarding Coordinate and facilitate the orientation & onboarding process for new hires, ensuring a smooth transition into the organization. Provide new team members with orientation materials, training, and support to help them acclimate to their roles and the company culture. Coordinate and facilitate the offboarding process. Conducting exit interviews and providing analysis on data and trends. Team Member Engagement and Retention Support team member engagement initiatives and programs, such as recognition programs, surveys, and feedback mechanisms. Assist in identifying and implementing strategies to improve team member morale, satisfaction, and retention. Human Resources Projects and Initiatives Participate in HR projects and initiatives as assigned by the HR Business Partner or HR leadership team, contributing to the achievement of HR and organizational objectives. HR Administration and Data Management Maintain accurate and up-to-date team member records, personnel files, and HR databases. Prepare HR reports and metrics related to recruitment, turnover, performance management, and other HR activities. Role Requirements A Diploma in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Psychology, Organizational Development, or a related field. A Degree would be considered an asset. Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in human resources, preferably in a generalist or advisory role. Demonstrated experience in providing HR support and guidance to team members and managers on a range of HR topics, including recruitment. team member relations, performance management. and compliance. Proficiency in HRIS systems and software used for HR administration, data management, and reporting. Strong knowledge of HR principles, practices, and regulations, including employment laws, compliance requirements, and industry best practices. Experience in conducting training sessions, facilitating workshops, or delivering HR-related presentations is advantageous. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interact effectively with team members at all levels of the organization. Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion and maintain a high level of professionalism and integrity. Previous experience in a similar work environment is preferred but not always required. What We Offer A competitive annual salary including a company-paid pension at 7% and matching RRSP up to 3%.
