Come build a rewarding career at Rogers and be a driving force behind our success story!Corporate Health Services (CHS) - Registered Nurse, Casual, Temporary PositionReporting to the Vice President & Chief Medical Officer, the Registered Nurse provides direct nursing care to Rogers employees and delivers health education programs in accordance with the Regulated Health Professions Act and the standards mandated by the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).This position is a casual, temporary position, to support CHS during on-call and short-term absences of the full-time RN / laboratory staff. You must be able to travel independently to both Toronto & Brampton locations, as well as to additional locations as deemed necessary by the CMO & VP.Key Responsibilities:Assess patients (Rogers employees) to identify appropriate nursing interventions (i.e., first aid, blood pressure monitoring, health counselling, 911 necessity, etc.)Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by a physician / nurse practitioner or according to established medical directives, policies and protocols (i.e., immunization, allergy shots, etc.)Monitor, assess, treat, document and report symptoms and changes in patients' conditionsCollect laboratory specimens (i.e., bloodwork, culture & viral swabs etc.) from patientsSet up and sterilize medical laboratory equipmentOperate, monitor, and maintain medical equipment within the Health CentreAssist in medical procedures (i.e., annual physicals, PAP testing, general medical assessments)Communicate non-critical results of blood work and imaging to patientsPerform additional tasks, as neededRole Requirements:The RN must be entitled to practice with no restrictions & be in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)Extensive experience in the assessment of patients in emergency situationsKnowledge of the use of a defibrillatorCurrent health care provider level CPR and First Aid CertificateSound problem-solving and critical thinking skillsStrong communication (written and verbal)Excellent nursing assessment and time management skillsMust possess a strong focus on delivering quality customer serviceBasic computer and medical systems knowledgeMust possess the physical ability to perform the day-to-day duties described in the duties and responsibilitiesAbility to work independently and without immediate supportBe flexible working within an on-call capacity for short durationsSchedule: Full timeShift: DayLength of Contract: No SelectionTravel Requirements: Up to 25%Posting Category / Function: Medical & Medical #J-18808-Ljbffr
