Currently looking to hire a Fibre Optic Splicer in Lower Mainland , BC for a permanent, full time position. This position involves all the facets of splicing including cable preparation, termination, fusion splicing, testing and troubleshooting. Duties and Responsibilities: Splicing, testing, and troubleshooting of fibre Documenting and reporting on completed telecommunication work Maintaining project and telecom safety documentation Inspecting routes and hub sites as preventative maintenance Ensuring all attended sites are clearly labelled Reviewing engineered plans and blueprints Obtaining and maintaining a great attention to detail Maintain Personal and Company provided tools Maintain good condition of company vehicles Rapidly Adapting to new changes that may occur Be Flexible for various work hours Able to adapt to a fast-paced environment The Ideal Candidate will have: Team Player Attitude Have Safety Awareness A Self Driven Attitude Great Problem-Solving Skills Good Organization Skills High Cleanliness Standards Ability to work in all weather conditions, confined spaces, isolation and at heights Ability to work in a physically demanding atmosphere including, but is not limited to: carry, raise and climb a ladder, carry, lift and handle heavy equipment (manhole covers, cable reels) Requirements: Valid Class 5 Drivers License Having a reliable vehicle to transport yourself to and from work Fibre Optic splicing experience (copper splicing experience is a Bonus) Familiarity with the tools, equipment and techniques of the trade Must be Legally entitled to work in Canada Fluent in English Strong Mechanical and Technical Skills Ability to work on aerial platforms and ladders Criminal Record Check is Required Willingness to work overtime, weekends, or on emergency call outs as required Job Types: Full-time, Permanent ~ Position subject to a 3 month probationary period Job Type: Full-time Pay: $38.00-$42.00 per hour Expected hours: 40-60 per week Additional pay: ~ Overtime pay Benefits: Company Van Company phone/Laptop Dental care Disability insurance Extended health care Life insurance Vision care Schedule: ~8-12 hour shifts ~ Day shift ~ Monday to Friday ~ Night shift ~ Overtime ~ Weekends as needed Experience: ~ Telecommunications: 1 year (required) Work Location: In person
