Position Summary Our close-knit and entrepreneurial team at Tenblock is excited to be hiring an Associate, Development . Reporting to the Director, Planning, you will be a key contributor to our planning and development activities, helping to ensure smooth project execution and alignment with our strategic goals. You will support land use planning, research, and policy analysis while assisting in the coordination of development applications and approvals. Your work will also involve collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders, preparing reports and presentations, and contributing to special projects as needed. We are looking for someone who is detail-oriented, organized, and eager to take on a variety of tasks in an entrepreneurial environment. You should be proactive, resourceful, and adaptable, with a strong interest in urban planning, development, and policy. Key Responsibilities Prepare and manage project timelines, budgets, and schedules, tracking progress and milestones to ensure timely completion. Maintain accurate project documentation and prepare regular status reports highlighting progress, risks, and milestones. Collaborate with internal and external teams to ensure seamless project execution. Research and monitor land use legislation, regulation, policy, and by-laws. Prepare, submit, and manage development approvals (OPAs, ZBAs, draft plans of subdivision, SPAs, minor variances, etc.). Assist in preparing documentation for regulatory authorities and obtaining necessary approvals. Contribute expert input for potential acquisitions, including site planning, feasibility analysis, and due diligence investigations. Identify and develop mitigation strategies for project risks related to zoning and environmental factors. Assist with site selection, evaluation, and planning, ensuring proposed developments are feasible and sustainable. Support effective communication between all project stakeholders (internal teams, local authorities, architects, contractors). Prepare and present project plans and updates to management, partners, and external stakeholders. Build and maintain meaningful professional relationships with partners, municipal staff, and community stakeholders. Provide administrative support, including meeting coordination, filing, documentation management, and follow-ups to ensure efficient project and team support. Requirements Bachelor''s degree in Urban Planning, Real Estate Development, Architecture, or related field; Master''s degree is an asset but not required. 2-5 years of administrative or operational support experience in urban planning, real estate development, or a related field, preferably within multifamily housing development. Knowledge of land use legislation, regulations, policy, and by-laws. Experience working with or within the City of Toronto is considered a strong asset. Resourceful.
