Job Description

Our client, a full-service law firm with offices in Vancouver, seeks an experienced Legal Assistant/Paralegal with knowledge of insolvency, foreclosures, and estates litigation law. This position works closely with a collegial and collaborative team, in a vibrant and thriving downtown office. As the ideal candidate for this role, you work well independently and are comfortable handling a wide range of legal assistant and paralegal duties in support of estate litigation and insolvency/foreclosure files. Responsibilities: Draft pleadings, demand letters, affidavits, notices of applications for conduct and approval of sale, and S92 applications Prepare Certificates of Pending Litigation for filing with LTO, and attend to filing court documents Prepare correspondence and ancillary documents Trial preparation, when necessary Other related duties as required Requirements: Legal Assistant and/or Paralegal certificate with minimum of 5 years of experience in foreclosures, estate litigation, and/or insolvency Exemplary multi-tasking skills; ability to anticipate needs and take initiative Meticulous attention to detail Superlative communication skills (verbal and written) Diplomatic and tactful, with excellent professional judgment Highly organized and able to follow direction Able to maintain confidentiality and work with sensitive information Computer proficient (e.g. MS Office 265, File Site, iManage, Elite) Compensation: Our client offers a supportive work environment as well as opportunities for growth and development. The anticipated base salary for this position is $75,000 - $90,000 annually, depending on individual experience, internal equity, and market equity.
