About the Role: This position supports construction execution by delivering services such as layout lines, elevation benchmarks, surveying, quantity take-offs, and material requisitions. The role assists the Superintendent in planning, coordinating, and overseeing daily site activities. It ensures compliance with Health and Safety regulations, internal safety programs, and relevant legislation. The position also ensures construction activities adhere to design documents, specifications, codes, and standards, while maintaining accurate and current as-built drawings on site. Education & Years of Experience: Degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Engineering Technology, Architecture, or Construction Management Previous experience in construction, with surveying knowledge considered an asset Key Responsibilities Site Surveying : Accurately provides layout baselines, benchmarks, and levels according to project-specific requirements. Estimating : Effectively determines material needs and quantities and places orders in accordance with project specifications. Record Keeping & Reporting : Adheres to and applies Easterns policies and procedures in quality assurance and safety reporting. Completes and submits concrete reports, progress tracking, RFIs, site photos, and safety documentation in a timely and accurate manner. Assists the Superintendent with field orders, PMOs, timesheets, and site reports as required. Job Knowledge & Technical Skills: Building Layout: Applies survey techniques and equipment effectively to ensure construction aligns with contract tolerances. Coordinates with trades, communicates layout data, facilitates inspections, and verifies subcontractor layouts. Health & Safety : Thorough understanding of the Occupational Health & Safety Act, Easterns safety protocols, and recognized as a Competent Supervisor per Ministry of Labour guidelines. Enforces safety measures with a zero-tolerance approach to ensure a safe work environment. Contracts, Drawings & Specifications : Skilled at interpreting contract documents, shop drawings, and specifications. Ensures compliance and keeps as-built drawings current throughout the project.
