We are currently looking for Program Facilitators to join our team of committed professionals. These Summer Contract positions within the Association are housed at the YMCA of Northeastern Ontarios John Island Camp location in Spanish, Ontario. Under the leadership of the Director of John Island Camp, the Program Facilitator is responsible for facilitating programming for groups that attend John Island in the spring. With a camper-oriented mindset, the Program Facilitator supports campers through their daytime camp experience, while group chaperones take on overnight supervision. START DATE: May 5, 2025 Major Responsibilities Supervise and support the campers to ensure their emotional and physical well-being Set up and maintain programming areas Build relationships with and be a positive role model for all camper and other staff members Provide a camper-focused experience in all areas of programming Assist in setting up camp for the summer when not assigned to a spring group, including but not limited to setting up the craft hut, removing canoes from buildings and setting them up on racks, and general cleaning of the property Assist in other areas of camp as well as programming, including the kitchen Other duties as assigned by the Association Qualifications Possession of an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) considered an asset *for education completed outside of Canada, applicants are required to submit a WES with their application Experience working with campers aged 7-14 Current Standard First Aid and CPR C Excellent verbal and written communication skills Knowledgeable in camp practices and its risk management considerations Excellent interpersonal skills Organizational and time management skills Bilingualism in both official languages considered an asset Current and satisfactory Police Record Check with Vulnerable Sector HOW TO APPLY If you would like to work in a family-friendly environment, please apply, by website only, with a cover letter and resume to the attention of the Personnel Committee.
