AV Gauge & Automation provides custom automation equipment to OEMs, tier 1 and tier 2 suppliers, using the most modern technologies and engineering software. We focus on core manufacturing principles and forward thinking to ensure all customer expectations for productivity, maintenance and safety are met. Summary: Under the supervision of the Automation Manager, the incumbent oversees and optimizes the procurement and logistics processes for the automation jobs. Additionally, the incumbent will estimate and analyze project requirements costs and will prepare quotes for our customers. Job Terms: Permanent, Full Time. Responsibilities: Purchasing: Utilize BOM to order components as per provided timelines Pre-order necessary materials if there is an expected long lead time Follow-up and track shipments, resolving issues related to transportation, importing/exporting, and logistic systems Prepare and verify customer packing slips Monitor and evaluate vendors based on their service level, quality, durability, etc. Develop and maintain relationships with existing or potential vendors Determine and/or negotiate contract terms with vendors Research and develop cost reduction strategies Obtain customs documents and required permits to transport cargo across the border Coordinate and schedule outsourcing of packaging, rigging, machining and delivery trucks Monitor orders and deliveries, advising appropriate department of lead time Maintain inventory records Other duties as assigned Prepare and consolidate reports based on purchase orders (including raw materials, stock, regular components) Assess Cost to Completion on a monthly basis, ensuring jobs are within designated budget Monitor and compile hours spent on jobs for Management review Analyze project inquiries, technical drawings, and specifications to understand scope and requirements Prepare detailed cost estimates for materials, labor, and equipment Collaborate with the sales team to ensure feasible timelines and budgets Input data into internal systems Generate professional project proposals for customer presentations Receive technical data from customers, manipulate and translate data Qualifications: Post-secondary education or certification in a related field is an asset 5+ years of experience in a similar position within a manufacturing setting is preferred Advanced knowledge in automation equipment and applications Proficiency in MS Word & Excel Knowledge of NAV, CAD and cost estimation software is an asset Ability to multi-task, pay attention to detail and meet tight deadlines Effective communication and interpersonal abilities GD&T Certificate is an asset Basic knowledge of fixtures & gauges is an asset To apply: Please visit the career page on our website We thank all applicants; however, only those selected for an interview will be notified.
