We're seeking a Mechanical Estimator with strong technical insight, a strategic mindset, and a passion for precision in cost planning.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop accurate, competitive estimates for HVAC, plumbing, piping, and building automation systems.Collaborate with engineers, project managers, suppliers, and clients to scope requirements and timelines.Use estimating software (such as AutoBid or Bluebeam) to prepare detailed cost breakdowns for labour, materials, and equipment.Identify potential risks and recommend cost-saving alternatives through value engineering strategies.Prepare professional bid submissions and present estimates to internal and external stakeholders.Support the handoff from estimating to project management, ensuring a smooth transition and accurate scope delivery.QualificationsA Journeyman Certificate in HVAC, Sheet Metal, or Plumbing is required.Minimum of 3 years experience in mechanical estimating or related field.Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, piping, and controls.Proven ability to read blueprints, mechanical plans, and tender specifications.Proficient with estimation tools such as AutoBid, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Excel.Familiarity with Building Management Systems (BMS) integration is considered an asset.Strong written and verbal communication skills with a professional client-facing demeanor.Organized, self-motivated, and comfortable managing multiple bids under tight deadlines.
