Job Details:Title: Senior Program ManagerLocation: Windsor, ONDuration: 12 Months (possibility of extensions)Description:Job Title: The Assistant Family ManagerThe Assistant Family Manager - High Voltage Batteries will be responsible for BEV Battery system and component execution, typically for up to 2 or 3 different batteries depending on complexity. The Battery Family Manager leads cross functional team and guarantees all deliverables and targets identified in the approved initiative over the product development lifecycle (timing, cost, performance, quality, etc.), be the single point contact for product team members for the given scope of work, and reports to the Global Family Manager.Job responsibilities of the Battery Family Manager include but not limited to:Manages all aspects of the assigned program to assure cost, timing, quality and performance achievementCoordinates cross functional family team involved in program targets achievementBe responsible to ensure program budget achievement identifying all possible efficiencies vs. approved business caseEnsures procedures, best practices and methodologies application according to required standards and leads program documentation creation, monitoring and updating in line with Global Powertrain (propulsion systems) Development ProcessBe responsible to ensure product readiness to support approved launches while defining appropriate timing milestones for the given project and leading the change review meetingsReports programs status, risk management and issue resolutionIdentifies program requirements and assembles cross-functional department information/data to take decisions in the appropriate forum to meet program objectivesCo-leads proactive risk management tasks with the Quality Manager and platform team and tracks/leads risk status updateSupports the technical reviews/evaluations in respect to program targets/milestonesSupports global purchasing and global manufacturing strategiesLeads the responses to investigate/action bulletins related to product/process changesCoordination and implementation of value optimization and quality improvement activitiesManages product lifecycle, including support of supply chain and logistics issues to guarantee production continuityRequirements:Bachelors of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)5-8 years' experience in product development engineering with at least THREE (3) years of program management experience with an Automotive OEM or Tier 1 supplierStrong cross functional team management skills along with superior written and oral skillsAdditional Must Haves:Strong communications skills in the English language. This person will be responsible for organizing and speaking to presentations that get reviewed all of the way up to a SVP level.Experience with engineering design and release. A big part of the job is following up with engineers to get part released, ordered and sent to the assembly site.Experience with time line development and recovery actions. This person will be responsible for keeping the battery program on track.Experience with managing a development budget. Tracking costs to a budget and finding offsets for overages is a big part of the job.Strong interpersonal skills and ability to deal with a high pressure environment. The battery programs are challenging and we are all learning as a team to execute them for the first time.No Driving of company vehicleRemote work with once a week at Auburn Hills AND up to once a week or as needed at Windsor Ontario. Candidate must have the necessary visa to accommodate this requirement.Some additional travel to other sites in Canada may be required such as the Windsor assembly plant. This could be daily trips for a week or two at a time for build events. Or, an occasional week long trip to Mexico.
