Hays has partnered with a leading contractor in the Greater Toronto Area, known for their four decades of service to the community. This contractor specializes in ICI (Industrial, Commercial, Institutional) construction builds, with a strong focus on institutional projects such as schools, community centres, and other government-funded buildings.About the Role:The open position is for a Site Superintendent who will play a crucial role in overseeing institutional construction projects in the $10-20M range.The Site Superintendent will report directly to the Project Manager and will be responsible for the following:Responsibilities:Supervise, schedule, and coordinate workers, subcontractors, suppliers, and equipment to ensure the project is completed on schedule and within budget.Liaise with project managers, designers, engineers, clients, and governing authorities to achieve the scope of work.Order materials and supplies as needed.Quickly and effectively solve job site issues to keep work on track and on time; manage and document job cost extras for review by the Project Manager.Follow fiscal policies set by management.Conduct site meetings as required; provide daily site and weekly safety reports; conduct safety talks.Ensure work is done in compliance with all OHSA regulations and applicable health & safety policies and procedures, including thorough compliance with OHSA and COR.Must be able to obtain police background check/clearance.Qualifications:Minimum of 10 years as a Site Superintendent or in a similar role, with experience managing institutional projects ranging from $5M to $25M.Relevant education in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field.Thorough knowledge and understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and schedules.Experience building educational facilities is a definite asset.Compensation:Salary based on experience.Health benefits coverage and RRSP matchCompany CarApplication Process:If you or someone you know meets the required qualifications, please apply for the role.
