Financial Reporting Accountant - 1 year Employment Type Contract Location Hamilton, Ontario Apply SHARE THIS JOB Job Description: Overall function of the role is to perform a range of accounting and consolidation functions, including maintaining certain aspects of the general ledger, ensuring compliance with IFRS and Corporate Standards and supporting monthly/quarterly/annual reporting. Key Responsibilities Include: Timely and accurate preparation of the monthly, quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements Maintain the general ledger and ensure that transactions are recorded properly with a focus on intercompany transactions Accurate preparation and review of monthly financial reporting package issued from the consolidation and reporting system and respond to any follow up questions Prepare timely and accurate financial information to management Preparation of compiled financial information and reports required by regulatory agencies Documentation, analysis and support of SOX and external audit Understand the implications of new and unusual transactions within the assigned month end accounting duties Identify and implement process and system improvements Ad hoc analysis and special projects as required TMGCT Job Requirements: University or Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Commerce Professional CPA designation preferred 3+ years of related work experience Excellent working knowledge of IFRS including technical accounting and reporting requirements Experience working on revenue recognition in compliance with IFRS Experience working on Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) SAP system experience is a strong asset Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong attention to detail and accuracy Ability to work well independently and within a team environment Someone who is collaborative, inquisitive and willing to take inititative Excellent analytical and problem solving skills Apply
