Title: Senior Analyst Controls Testers (Controls, data analysis) Salary: 98-105k per annum Location: Downtown Toronto, Hybrid 3x per week Required Skills & ExperienceBachelor’s degreeAt least 3 years of financial consumer compliance monitoring experience or 3 years of consumer compliance auditing experience or 3 years of experience in assessing processes and their controls, or 3 years of experience in assessing third parties and vendorsExperience in preparing and writing business documents (i.e., presentations for leadership meetings or forums, briefing memos, and reports)Familiarity with applicable Canadian regulators (OSFI, OPC, FCAC) and regulations that apply to a credit card businessBasic data analysis and scripting experience (SQL, Python) Nice to Have Skills & ExperienceRelevant certification or accreditation in Compliance, Risk Management, Legal, or other related fieldsWorking knowledge of cloud data structure (snowflake)Experience creating and reviewing test scripts using SQL/Python to test full populations for key attributesWorking knowledge of French languageStrong leadership skills and capabilitiesFamiliarity of a credit card business, practices, and operation Job DescriptionThe Testing Team is seeking an experienced Senior Associate who will be responsible for conducting control testing to assess the effectiveness of control activities in accordance with the Control Standard and other applicable policies. The Senior Associate will be required to develop a deep understanding of regulatory requirements, business processes, and Enterprise Risk Standards to effectively conduct control testing. Successful candidates must demonstrate strong critical thinking, judgment, and analysis skills. Additionally, the role requires the ability to collaborate effectively with business partners and communicate findings in a clear and professional manner. The right candidate will have:A solid understanding of risk management and governance principles and familiarity with the processes and controls that govern these activities (i.e., three lines of defense model and risk framework principles)The ability to distill complex information into a clear and concise narrativeThe ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple projects and deliverablesSolid analytical and investigative skillsA proven track record in driving high quality and timely resultsThe ability to work autonomously in a dynamically changing environmentDemonstrated business maturity with the ability to effectively communicate and influence stakeholders within all levels of the organization, establish and maintain positive relationshipsSolid interpersonal and conflict resolution skillsStrong judgment and knowledge of when to escalate with appropriate stakeholders before issues arise Your Responsibilities:Lead or support the execution of control tests to assess the design and operating effectiveness of control activitiesCollaborate with business partners and review documentation to gather information to perform control testingProactively manage testing activities and schedules to ensure that all activities and reporting are completed within expected timelinesAnalyze data to identify issues and trends across the Canada controls environmentExecute control testing across a variety of control types, including manual and automated controls where the ability to query data using SQL may be leveraged Develop and maintain strong relationships with business and second line partnersAssist in the creation of reporting to communicate testing results to business partnersClearly document and communicate results from control tests for stakeholder reviewSupport the development of reports and briefing materials to senior managementNavigate organization to quickly understand business processes and requirements necessary to complete testing and to develop a deep understanding of how processes evolve to continually meet changing business requirementsSupport strategic risk projects as assignedRemain current on risk management trends, best practices, and guidelines issued by applicable regulatory bodies
