Career Opportunity in General Surgery: Acute Care Surgery The Department of Surgery, Division of General Surgery is seeking a Full Time Associate Acute Care Surgeon to join our group at the Etobicoke General Hospital Joining a division of eight surgeons, the ACS surgeon will be on call daily from 7:00am - 4:00pm, with 2-3 overnight shifts per week and a minimum of 1 in every 4 weekends (Friday-Sunday). The ACS surgeon must be available during daytime hours to receive all new consults from the ER, ICU, in-patient wards, and all intra-operative consultations. The ACS surgeon will also be available for daytime opportunities as a surgical assistant in the OR and have 24/7 support from one of the other general surgeons. In addition, the ACS surgeon will be provided with one block per week in our out-patient clinic for patient follow-ups, which includes associated administrative support and overhead costs. Remuneration is fee-for-service as set by the OHIP Schedule of Benefits and Fees and eligibility to receive the HOCC stipend for completed nights on-call. The candidate must have a certificate of registration to practise from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario and have fellowship in General Surgery from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
