POSITION OVERVIEW: Finance Managers play a critical role in a companys financial success and in the management of its financial divisions. The Finance Manager is responsible for managing, controlling, planning, and organizing the processes within the finance department. Their primary duties include organizing and planning financial audits, evaluating reporting systems in place and developing new ones, and creating and implementing financial procedures in finance and accounting departments. OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES: Maintain a full set of books with the accrual method and ensure that they comply with generally accepted accounting principles Analyze and maintain the books and a comprehensive set of controls designed to mitigate risk Able to adapt to the ever-changing needs of a company that continues to grow and expand Work alongside the entire team to create new and more efficient business processes Oversee the finance department and staff within the department Work directly with Senior Leadership and report directly to the President Maintain strong working relationship with each client through with excellent and timely written and oral communication skills Maintain tracking documents to ensure receivables are collected promptly and vendor invoices are paid in a timely manner Processing payroll, T4s and Records of Employment via Dayforce Prepare monthly bank reconciliations for each bank account Monthly remittance of government payments - HST, EHT, RST, Corporate Taxes Comply with local, provincial and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings Monthly and quarterly budget reporting and analysis Maintain annual budget Coordinate the provision of information to external auditors for interim and annual audits Monitor and manage the active account chart to ensure accuracy Other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS: Excellent organizational skills Expert knowledge in finance and accounting procedures and regulations Strong analytical and leadership skills Ability to work under pressure and on tight deadlines Outstanding communication skills, both oral and written Exceptional reporting skills Degree in Accounting is an asset POSITION TRAINING PROVIDED: Internal staff program training, awareness and collaboration within the team External program training and orientations for educational clients and students Additional Professional Development opportunities provided as needed Navacord, and all our Broker Partners are actively committed to supporting diversity, equity, and inclusion.
