Company Background After 20 years of laying the foundations of our business, and becoming the local machining experts, business has taken off.We are a custom machining solutions company, servicing the oil & gas, aerospace, and local markets. Job Background We recognize that as the company grows, we want to do it right. We want to create the right management team to help us organize & lead the company. We understand that we need to lean on others with different expertise to our own. We want to nurture our team and create a roadmap for the company and our families. Currently, DMI doesnt have an internal accountant / controller.Up until now, weve had a staff member do the book-keeping and an external accountant do the year end (compilation) & help consult.Its a combination that has served us well to this point.But, with our book-keeper retiring and the company experiencing growth, weve decided its the right time to add a full time CPA to our team, and create a CFO position at the company. What We are Looking For Our business is a passion project for us.Its our livelihood, our reputation, and our contribution.We want to find a CFO that wants to join us on this journey & create their own legacy. Were looking for a CPA who: -is prepared to do routine accounting tasks, but capable or providing us with high level analysis, advice & support; -can work the detail to lay out the options as we go; -can recognize the non-financial implications of those options to make sure we arrive at balanced solutions where everyone thrives; -is positive, and would be a great colleague that well enjoy sharing the journey with. -Has experience they feel would add value to the company. Role Specifics DMIs CFO would fulfill a variety of responsibilities within the company as follows: - Accounting oDay to day accounting oMonth end reconciliations oYear end accounting - Financial Analysis oReviewing sales & providing analysis to the owners on the profitability of jobs, accuracy of quotes, production efficiency, and machine and employee productivity etc. - Financial Road Map oHelp set objectives & create a road map to achieve them Corporate & Personal oFinancial forecasting & planning Corporate & Personal oFinancial analysis to help with decision making Capital & Operating - Senior Administrative Support oComplete documentation necessary for: Loans Grants Access to new markets New customers in Oil & Gas / Aerospace / Medical / Public sectors - Initial Ad Hoc Task The first job that needs to be addressed is bringing our current accounts up to date and preparing the information required by the external accountant for the year ended November 30, 2024, including: oEstablishing accounting processes to embrace our new workshop software that has integrated accounting software; oPerform a thorough review of the accounts in order to reconcile the books for the year ended November 30, 2024; oWork with the external accountant to prepare financials for the year ended November 30, 2024 (note that estimated corporate taxes have been paid, but the accounts havent been successfully reconciled due to the book-keeper retiring) oCatch up to date with accounts beyond November 30, 2024.
