This role supports the design and execution of more consistent, transparent, and efficient approaches to vendor governancealigned with evolving regulatory expectations.You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to refine due diligence frameworks, streamline vendor oversight processes, and contribute to shared best practices in third-party risk management. The role requires deep subject matter expertise in procurement, vendor risk, and compliance, as well as a collaborative mindset and a clear understanding of financial sector dynamics.Role OverviewWe are seeking a recognized Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Third-Party Risk Management (TPRM) and Procurement to be a key contributor to this solution. This role requires expertise in vendor risk, governance, compliance, procurement processes, and financial sector regulations, along with the enterprising nature and relationship management savvy to collaborate with our shareholders, clients, and vendors.Key ResponsibilitiesProgram Development: Contribute to the strategy, design, implementation, and governance of a third-party risk management framework and technology platform.Framework Design & Implementation:Support the development and enhancement of third-party risk governance models, due diligence workflows, and supporting tools. Regulatory Alignment: Help interpret and apply guidelines related to vendor management and operational risk, ensuring institutional readiness and alignment. Risk Advisory & Execution Support: Advise on risk segmentation, vendor onboarding protocols, and procurement controls to improve defensibility, transparency, monitoring, risk mitigation and process integrity. Stakeholder Collaboration: Engage with stakeholders and partners to establish leading risk practices and align with regulatory and operational priorities. Technology & Data Strategy: Advise on best practices for leveraging technology in automating and optimizing third-party risk processes.Collaborate: Across stakeholders to fully identify and garner support for the initial phase of strategy. Workflows: Provide expert guidance and direction on Third-Party Risk Management (TPRM) workflows and processes within the Canadian banking sector, while advancing the development of a valuable model that adheres to procurement policies, industry regulations, and governance standards. Thought Leadership: Provide subject matter expertise on emerging risks, regulatory trends, and best practices in third-party risk.Qualifications & Experience10+ years in Third-Party Risk Management, preferably within a major financial institution.5+ years of leadership experience in procurement, preferably within the financial services industry. Expertise in third-party risk management and procurement requirements and processes. Deep understanding of and compliance with OSFI Guidelines B-10, B-13 FINTRAC requirements, and other applicable regulations.Experience in developing or managing mutualized/shared services is an asset.Strong background in vendor risk assessment, contract negotiation, and due diligence.Familiarity with risk and compliance technology solutions (e.g., GRC platforms, AI-driven risk tools).Proven ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders across multiple institutions.Entrepreneurial, visionary, and an enthusiastic attitude.Project Management skills.
