This role is responsible for providing HR support across the Canadian region, aligning services with the needs of employees and management within designated business units. They work closely with key teams, including Legal, to ensure compliance with Canadian employment laws, and assist with compensation, total rewards analysis, recommendations, and best practices. Additionally, the role involves identifying trends and patterns to provide organizational insights, support proactive planning, and address issues early, all while promoting an inclusive, forward-thinking workplace and strengthening the company''s reputation as an employer of choice in Canada. Key Responsibilities: Ensure ongoing compliance with Canadian employment legislation. Monitor and respond to regulatory changes by updating policies and practices as needed. Serve as the primary HR contact for all Canadian operations, offering guidance on compliance and general HR matters. Partner with key stakeholders across Legal, Finance, Compensation and Benefits, Payroll, Talent Acquisition, and Hiring Managers to deliver effective HR solutions. Manage employee relations issues, including conflict resolution, investigations, and disciplinary actions. Act as a trusted HR advisor to assigned business units, providing guidance on employee matters and HR best practices. Build strong knowledge of the business structure, strategies, and goals to provide tailored HR support. Collaborate with Business Talent teams on function-specific initiatives and projects. Coach and support managers and employees on a range of HR topics requiring intervention. Work closely with internal partners to deliver a consistent and positive employee experience. Identify emerging workforce trends and provide insights for proactive planning and risk mitigation. Canada-Specific Compliance and Regional Duties: Employee Relations: Advise managers and employees on HR policies and employment-related matters. Stay current with Canadian legislative updates and ensure HR policies remain compliant. Manage complex employee relations cases, ensuring a fair and consistent approach. Support initiatives that promote a positive work culture and enhance employee engagement. Experience and Qualifications: ~ Bachelors degree in Human Resources or a related field. ~ Fluent in both French and English (written and spoken) is required. ~510 years of progressive HR Generalist experience, ideally within fast-paced, international environments. ~ Strong expertise in core HR disciplines including HR Business Partnering, Compensation, Talent Management, Employee Relations, Recruiting, and Organizational Development. ~ Solid understanding of Canadian employment law and HR practices. ~ Previous experience working in medium to large international companies. ~ Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. ~ Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills in both English and French. ~ High level of discretion with confidential information. ~ Comfortable working on a hybrid schedule. ~ Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with teams across different functions and regions.
