Position: Cook FTE: Casual Department: Health PEI, Long Term Care Location: Prince Edward Island, Multiple Locations Salary: $25.09 - $25.88 per hour The Cook 2 / Baker 2 performs and delegates tasks related to the preparation of nutritional and appetizing foods in quantities required for resident and staff meals; and performs other related and allied duties which contribute to the orderly and efficient operation of the Nutrition Services Department. Duties include : Determining quantities of food and number of regular and special patient meals to be prepared; Ordering, preparing and cooking required quantities of various foods; Assisting with the cleaning of kitchen areas and equipment; Receiving deliveries, transporting supplies to storage areas and retrieving as required; Assisting with food portioning and serving; and, Other duties as required. Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must have successful completion of Grade 12 and successful completion of a professional cooking program from a recognized institution or red seal certification supplemented by a minimum of two years recent food preparation experience in a commercial or institutional setting where substantial food quantities are prepared. The successful applicant must be able to follow oral and/or written instructions. Applicants must have a good previous work and attendance record.
