Situated in the mineral-rich southeast of Guinea. The project encompasses exploration, mining, processing, infrastructure development, and sustainable operations planning. Job Overview: We are seeking a highly experienced and driven MEI Superintendent to oversee all mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation activities on-site in Guinea. The successful candidate will manage contractor performance, ensure compliance with safety and quality standards, and deliver project milestones on schedule. This is a contract rotation-based role (6 weeks on, 3 weeks off). Responsibilities: Supervise and coordinate the execution of MEI activities in accordance with project plans and specifications. Monitor and ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards and procedures. Manage subcontractor performance, productivity, and progress against schedule. Lead daily toolbox talks and participate in regular safety audits and inspections. Review and approve method statements, ITPs, and QA/QC documentation. Liaise with engineering, procurement, and planning teams to ensure smooth execution of construction works. Monitor and report on progress, identify risks and delays, and implement corrective measures. Ensure alignment with project timelines, budget constraints, and quality expectations. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to field supervisors and tradespeople. Promote safety by working adhering to company safety guidelines, which includes but is not limited to the proper use and safe handling of tools, equipment and materials and use of personal protective gear. Know, understand and capable of utilizing emergency response protocol. Be willing and able to work on a variety of schedules; day and evenings, weekend and holiday, and also be willing to travel. Must be able to multi-task, meet deadlines and work independently and in a team environment. Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing, in a clear, effective and professional manner. Document job-site work as required; materials, labor and other costs used on jobs. Qualifications & Experience: Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation Engineering, or equivalent trade background. Experience in conveyor belt repair and maintenance Minimum 10 years of experience in industrial/mining construction projects, including supervisory roles. Minimum of 5 years international working experience Beginner / Intermediate computer skills, proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook Professional Certifications qualified trade person, Mechanical/ Millwright (electrical and mechanical) Ability to perform physical manual labor, in the outdoors, heavy industry, construction or mining environment. Mechanical aptitude competence in the use of conveyor belt working tools and equipment. Skilled to perform conveyor belt splicing; requires knowledge of belts and related equipment to perform the splice. Strong communication and interpersonal skills in English (French is an asset).
