INDUSTRIAL MECHANIC - FOOD Requirements: Understanding of mechanical, electrical & pneumatic systems An understanding of electrical control systems, PLCs, drives, motors & gear boxes. Candidate should have technical background and strong familiarity with machine maintenance. This role involves troubleshooting and ensuring that all machinery operates safely and efficiently to support continuous production. The ideal candidate is skilled in mechanical repairs, understands food safety standards, and is proactive in identifying and resolving issues. Facility includes tablet press operation, semi-automated packaging lines including tablet filling, over wrapping and blister packing and integrated warehouse. Must be able to read and comprehend machine blueprints and manuals Must be able to work on ladders, work in tight areas as needed. Must be able to use standard shop power tools such as drill press, Sawzall and grinders. Able to communicate proficiently in English. Responsibilities include: Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair food processing machinery and mechanical systems. Conduct preventative maintenance on equipment to minimize downtime and extend equipment life. Install and test new machinery or equipment upgrades as required by production needs. Ensure all installations meet industry standards and regulatory requirements. Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety standards and protocols to protect both the facility and its personnel. Keep accurate records of maintenance work, repairs, and parts replacements. Suggest and implement improvements to equipment performance and reliability. Qualifications: Experience: 3+ years as an Industrial Mechanic, preferable in a food manufacturing or related industry. Education: High School, Certifications: Any related certifications would be an asset. **Ideal candidate will need to multitask at times, also may be asked to work overtime to complete a task if urgent. Also a valid drivers licence would be a plus.
