Our goal is ambitious yet simple: to radically enhance the economics of recycled materials through innovative processing and materials technologies.Role Overview:We seek a chemical or mechanical engineer with strong technical skills, problem-solving ability, and technical execution. In this role, you will lead the hands-on development and testing of pilot-scale equipment to bridge the gap between laboratory and production data and ensure design validation. This role requires a technical and experimental mindset to build, test, and optimize processing equipment used in chemical processes. You will be expected to develop prototypes, conduct experiments, and analyze performance data to support process design improvements. If you enjoy building hardware in the lab, troubleshooting experimental setups, and scaling up technologies, this role is for you.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, build, and test pilot-scale processing equipment for chemical recyclingConduct experimental trials to gather performance data for process validationAnalyze results and refine equipment design for process optimizationWork closely with the technical team to integrate findings into process designsCommunicate and maintain technical documentation of experiments and modificationsDevelop reports to ensure the success of the technology transferTroubleshoot equipment issues and refine experimental setups as neededFoster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement in technical execution.What we are looking for3+ years of process, mechanical, or chemical engineering, R&D, or hands-on prototypingStrong knowledge of chemical processing equipment, heat transfer, and materials handlingAbility to decompose complex problems into actionable steps, applying risk management and intuition to develop novel solutionsIndependently establishes project goals and quantifiable outcomes, proactively analyzing and iterating to ensure ongoing success after formal project closureExperience in designing and setting up experimental rigs for process testingHands-on ability to build, modify, and troubleshoot equipmentStrong data analysis, communication, and documentation skillsExperience in chemical recycling or materials processing is preferredEligibility to work legally in Canada.Why Join Us?Sixone offers a dynamic environment with opportunities for professional growth, technical challenges, and leadership experience.
