ALTEN Canada is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to support the development, documentation, and execution of electrical and control system design projects. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise in control panel design, power distribution, and control system architecture and a solid understanding of Canadian and international electrical codes, and excellent collaboration and communication skills.Key Responsibilities: Develop and update detailed electrical design documents with a focus on: Control panel layout and design; Power distribution systems; Control system architecture (PLC/DCS)Prepare and review engineering deliverables such as: P&IDs; Single-line diagrams; I/O lists and loop diagrams; Termination drawings and control logic diagrams; Bills of Materials (BOMs)Ensure all designs comply with relevant codes, standards, and client-specific requirements including CEC, CSA C22.1, IEEE, NFPA, IEC, and UL 508Support equipment procurement and vendor selection processes.Manage and review vendor documentation to ensure alignment with project requirements.Collaborate with Process, Mechanical, Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) engineers, and project support teams (Document Control, Procurement, Finance, etc.).Track project progress, maintain schedules, and provide regular updates to the Engineering Manager.Participate in client meetings, technical design reviews, and support field activities including installation and commissioning.Key QualificationsBachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Chemical, Environmental, Electrical, Mechanical, Computer) or related.At least 4 years of experience working with water treatment technology (drinking, wastewater process), petrochemical or oil & gas sectorProven hands-on experience in Control panel design / Power distribution / PLC/DCS-based control system architectureProficiency in interpreting and developing P&IDs / Single-line diagrams / I/O lists and loop diagramsStrong knowledge of applicable electrical standards and codes, including but not limited to CEC (Canadian Electrical Code), CSA (Canadian Standards Association) CSA22.1, IEEE, NFPA, IEC, UL 508Field commissioning / hands-on troubleshooting experience would be an assetExperience with electrical design tools such as AutoCAD Electrical or EPLANExcellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with internal teams, customers, and suppliersAbility to manage multiple priorities and work in a dynamic, deadline-driven environmentProfessional, detail-oriented, and proactive approach to problem-solving
