We're Hiring: Law Clerk TortLocation: North York, Toronto, ON (1018 Finch Ave. W)Full-Time | PermanentBergel Magence LLP, one of Ontarios leading personal injury law firms, is growing! We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Law Clerk (Tort Specialist) to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in personal injury law, specifically with tort claims, and will be passionate about helping injured clients receive the compensation and care they deserve.Key Responsibilities:Manage tort files from open to closing working closely with Senior Lawyer.Independently manage a caseload of plaintiff-side personal injury tort filesDraft pleadings, motion records, affidavits of documents, mediation and pre-trial memorandaCoordinate expert reports, medical documentation, and undertakingsSchedule and manage discoveries, mediations, pre-trials, and trialsPrepare and organize trial records and briefsCommunicate with clients, adjusters, defense counsel, and medical professionalsMaintain accurate, up-to-date dockets and file notes in a case management system (e.g. PCLaw, etc.)Qualifications:Minimum 5 years of experience as a Law Clerk in tort/personal injury litigationStrong understanding of Rules of Civil Procedure and court filing processesAbility to work independently in a fast-paced environmentExcellent organizational, communication, and time management skillsProficiency with legal software and Microsoft OfficeExperience with trial preparation and attending at trial is a strong assetWhat We Offer:Competitive salary based on experience.Health and dental benefits package.Opportunities for professional growth and development.A supportive team environment.Hybrid work opportunities available (remote + in-office).Vacation and paid personal days.About Bergel Magence LLP:With over 50 years of experience, Bergel Magence is a trusted name in Ontarios personal injury field.
