MINDSIN MOTION (North Shore)-Contract Position- Minds in Motion is a fitness and social program for people experiencing early-stage memory loss. We are currently seeking a contractor to facilitate the weekly North Shore Minds in Motion program held at the Silver Harbour Centre and West Vancouver Seniors Activity Centre. This is a continuous contract position to start ASAP with no fixed end date. Plan and prepare activities for the social activity component of the program, guided by the needs, abilities, and interests of the participants; facilitate the social interaction and involvement during the activities. Be familiar with the Minds in Motion guidelines, including: procedures for welcoming new and returning participants, monitoring suitability and discussing with staff when clients no longer fit the program criteria. Work with the Community Services Manager and the Support & Education Coordinator, First Link to ensure the program complies with the requirements of the Alzheimer Society of B.Provide orientation, training and supervision to volunteers. Collect regular attendance information, evaluative feedback and other related data to confirm participation and response to the program. PLEASE NOTE: The successful candidate will be asked to provide proof of full COVID-19 vaccination and will also be required to obtain clearance through the BC government online criminal record check system. additional weekly prep and admin time is flexible. Additional planning/training time as agreed with Community Services Manager (max 4 hours per month). Volunteer management training/experience an asset. Up to 5 hours of training and orientation time in the first month, billed at a rate of $40 per hour.
