The role advances people and culture initiatives aligned with Runnymede Healthcare Centres strategic goals, ensuring an engaged workforce, effective talent management, and a safe and inclusive work environment. This position leads key initiatives related to workforce planning, organizational culture, equity and inclusion, staff development, and risk mitigation in collaboration with executive and departmental leaders.Responsibilities include: Support strategic planning efforts, accreditation readiness, and transformational initiatives aligned with organizational excellence. Prepare and deliver presentations to Board Committees, Executive Team, and other audiences on workforce trends, engagement results, and strategic HR initiatives. Provide strategic oversight to the Human Resources function, including the existing leadership team within Human Resources. Manage and mitigate any escalated HR Management and strategic issues, such as policies and procedures, recruitment, training, and staff development. Collaborate in the recruitment process to attract and hire qualified staff in key roles related to Runnymede. Ensure that the hospital complies with all relevant healthcare regulations and standards.Foster a positive work environment and promote employee engagement and satisfaction. Implement effective processes and mitigation strategies for handling escalated HR and administrative risks, such as employee conflicts and compliance issues. Provide oversight to the entire employee lifecycle: recruitment, onboarding, performance management, leadership development, and succession planning. Ensure HR policies, compensation strategies, and programs are aligned with industry best practices and legislative compliance. Guide and support the HR department on matters pertaining to unionized and non-unionized labour relations, including grievance management and collective bargaining strategy.
