JOB DESCRIPTIONInsight Global is looking for a Project Designer to join a leading Civil Engineering client in Peterborough Ontario in their Land Development Engineering Department. This role requires 3x/week on site.Your opportunity as a Project Designer is to strengthen our client's site servicing and stormwater management teams by preparing engineering drawings and technical documents. You will play an integral role in their land development services, building on a strong foundation of partnership to provide the best solutions for their clients.Key Responsibilities:- Creating contract drawings using AutoCAD Civil 3D design software.- Drafting design/technical reports.- Completing field reviews.- Preparing cost estimates and quantity calculations.- Preparing tender documents.- Prepare and produce design drawings and 3-D design models.- Prepare various design and presentation materials including drawings.- Liaise with staff, clients, agencies, and sub-consultants during the design phase.- Identify, troubleshoot, and solve design issues.- Provide updates on the progress of design projects.- Ensure the design integrity of all aspects of projects through design development, detail design, tendering and construction.REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE- Civil Engineering Technician/Technology Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering.- Strong knowledge of AutoCAD and AutoCAD Civil 3D.- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.- Excellent work ethic and ability to work on several projects simultaneously.- Excellent time management skills to meet project timelines.- General knowledge of various design standards and requirements, such as OPSS and OPSD.NICE TO HAVE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE- Experience with the ESRI ArcMap Geographic Information System (GIS) software package for the development of hydrology studies and floodplain maps.- Holder of, or eligible to obtain, an Ontario Class G Drivers License.
