Adecco is currently recruiting for a Litigation Law Clerk for our client is in Ottawa, ON. Ideal candidate must be able to work on-site. This is a permanent, full-time opportunity.The Litigation Law Clerk will have the following responsibilities:Review and revise pleadings for tribunals and most court levels including but not limited to Small Claims, Superior Court, Ontario Court of Appeal, Federal Court and Federal Court of AppealPrepare necessary forms for filing and file same with appropriate bodyArrange and coordinate service of documents when appropriateAssisting lawyers in preparing for depositions, hearings, trials and conferences; completing many administrative tasks, including, working on individual casesInvestigating the factual evidence of a transaction or case and preparing exhibits, charts and diagrams to display informationPreparation of Affidavit of Documents, Bill of Costs, and other court related documentsResearch caselaw and prepare Books of AuthoritiesReview factums and finalize with hyperlinks to authorities, tables of authorities, etc.Organizing and tracking firm and matter deadlines and maintaining firm database re deadlinesFile management including opening and closing files, filing all documents within the document management system and paper files, as required, communicating with clients and organizing meetings, etc.The Litigation Law Clerk must meet the following mandatory requirements:Bilingual: speak and write in French and English3 to 5 years of law clerk, ideally with a law firmExperience at all levels of courtExcellent attention to detailAccurate typing speed of approximately 60 words per minuteAdvanced knowledge of OneKey, Caselines, Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and other systems implemented by the firmAbility to think ahead and use initiativeFlexible and dependableAble to remain calm under pressure and work in tight deadlinesConscientious, approachable, and enthusiasticAble to quickly build confidence, respect, and trust with others.Have a positive approach to daily tasks and have a solution-focused approach to challenge.
