Support Joint Health and Safety Committee activities, including meetings, agendas etc. Performs Personal Protective Equipment assessments and risk assessments associated with tools, equipment, and work environments Collaborates with leaders to investigate incidents, identify root causes incidents and develops recommendations and follow-up to prevent recurrences. Promote a positive safety culture and environmental stewardship across all levels of the organization Conducts training and presentations for health and safety matters Coordinate return to work such as daily/weekly check-ins with the injured worker, assist in finding accommodations as directed by the Safety Manager. Perform other duties as assigned Qualified candidates must possess: Knowledge of WorkSafeBC OHS Regulation and related standards Valid Canadian Standards Association (CSA) Intermediate First Aid A minimum of 1-2 years of manufacturing related safety experience Degree or diploma in Occupational Health and Safety Management or Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance or related National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) certification or equivalent desired High level of computer literacy and application skills in MS Office Exceptional organizational skills, able to prioritize, detail oriented Ability to multi-task and work efficiently Good interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal) Able to work independently and as part of a team Great reliability and professionalism Positive attitude and willingness to learn
