Overview: With their headquarters in Europe, our client develops and tests equipment that will shape the mining industry for years to come. There are only a handful of companies pushing the limits of BEV mining technology, and their Advanced Engineering team in the Vancouver area are on the forefront of this technology. They currently have an opening for a Regulatory and Compliance Engineer , who will lead and advise our client on how safety and regulatory compliance are addressed in their products. You will be trained to become part of a team that develops the mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and firmware systems for Battery Electric technologies. Responsibilities will include scrupulous research of standards and patents relevant to the BEV industry; all the while, working closely with the engineers, software developers and purchasers to ensure their work complies with the appropriate industry standards. Requirements: Engineering degree/diploma, or similar Strong awareness of, and appreciation for, hazard-based engineering principles Certification or special training in regulatory or product safety evaluation Experience with product certification/testing/validation Good knowledge of ISO/UL/CSA/CE standards Meticulous attention to detail Exceptional documentation capabilities Strong desire and ability to learn A NEED to know the answer through thorough investigation and scrutiny. Ability to work quickly, diligently, and independently Ability to communicate with coworkers honestly and confidently Preferred Skills: Basic knowledge of BEV systems and components Experience with mining equipment or heavy-duty vehicles Previous experience with engineering standards compliance Good understanding of electrical circuits and controls Good Mechanical aptitude Technical understanding of vehicle subsystems such as hydraulic, electrical and powertrain Experience designing/building prototypes CANbus experience Salary range: $110-140K Our client believes in pay equity, fairness and transparency, and their ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The actual compensations offered to the final candidate is based on the ranges shown, and will vary depending on the candidate''s relative experience, qualifications, and anticipated level of performance.
