Our government administration client is hiring for a Bilingual Senior HR Advisor, Policy and Compliance to join their team on a 1 year contract! This is a very exciting opportunity working in a hybrid environment, working 1 day onsite per week downtown Ottawa, the rest of the week remotely. This position is responsible on leading policy development and compliance initiatives within a dynamic Crown corporation. Youll operate as a subject matter expert on Canadian labor law and HR policy, offering strategic guidance and ensuring organizational alignment with federal standards and legislation. This is a contract role with a direct line to leadership and broad scope for independent decision-making. The successful candidate will be fluently bilingual in both English and French and come with recent experience working in an advisory role to senior leadership on HR policy and compliance. Key Responsibilities: Lead the development and implementation of HR policies and compliance systems Advise on and interpret Canadian labor legislation and HR best practices Conduct internal audits and compliance reviews, and provide recommendations Support workforce planning, succession planning, and employee development initiatives Drive change management efforts and contribute to organizational effectiveness Present policy guidance and compliance strategies to senior leadership What You Bring: Minimum 5 years experience in Human Resources, including 3 years advising on Canadian labour relations law (e.g., Canada Labor Code) Minimum 3 years'' experience being in an advisory role to senior leadership. Strong knowledge of employment legislation, policy development, and compliance monitoring Proven ability to work independently and provide strategic, high-quality HR advisory services Experience in change management and influencing organizational culture Degree in HR or a related field Bilingual in English and French fluency is a must, with ability to pass federal-level language testing. There will be French language testing in the interview process. Assets: CHRP or CHRL designation Experience in government, regulatory, or standards-based environments Background in unionized or highly regulated settings Exposure to DEI initiatives and strong project management skills
