In partnership with the SITE Program in Italy, were proud to offer Canadian youth a chance to live and teach English in ItalyPROGRAM DESCRIPTIONThe Study Intercultural Training Experience (SITE) is a paid cultural exchange program that places recent graduates in schools across Lombardy as English Teaching Assistants. Youll help Italian students improve their English while experiencing the language, culture, and lifestyle of Italy first hand.DutiesInterns will assist Italian teachers as native English-speaking teaching assistants (TAs), primarily in English lessons. They may also support teachers of other subjects (e.g., History, Geography, Science) in delivering simple English-language modules (CLIL). University credit requires prior approval from the intern's home institution.HoursTAs will work 12 classroom hours per week and dedicate 13 hours to self-study, projects, student conversations, office hours, excursions, or advisor meetings. Schedules are flexible and arranged with the hosting school advisor.AdvisorsEach intern is assigned an advisor, who will assist with transition, including housing arrangements (e.g., apartment or homestay). Advisor contact details are provided before summer.DurationThe internship runs from October 1 to May 31. Interns may work at two schools in the same area (one term per school).AccommodationAccommodation is not guaranteed. Interns should discuss options with their advisor before arrival.CompensationInterns receive a monthly stipend of 700 (~$1,000 CAD).Health InsuranceInterns must have health insurance.
