The Opportunity: Our client, a global chemicals company that provides expertise and tailored combinations of chemicals to improve water, energy and raw material efficiency, is looking for a Plant Manager for their Varennes, QC, facility.You will be responsible to translate the companys goals regarding customer satisfaction, H&S and quality into operational policies and procedures and provide leadership to production, warehouse/distribution and plant services.What You'll Be Doing:Oversee safe and environmentally conscious operations on a daily basis for the manufacturing of quality products produced in a timely and cost-efficient mannerManage inventory of raw materials and finished productsDirect the planning layout of equipment, workflow and workforce utilizationFollow all safety procedures and ensure regulatory compliance with OHS, MTQ, MOE, and local authoritiesIdentify and provide necessary resources for training in all regulatory areas to ensure all employee operate in a safe and environmentally responsible mannerMaintain all necessary certifications (i.e., NSF, ISO)Prepare annual plant operations financial budgetsMonitor plant expenditures to stay within budgeted allowanceRecommend and justify capital projects for the site; manage project design and installation What You'll Need To Be Successful: Four year Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Chemistry or related technical field with a minimum of 5 years chemical plant management experienceMinimum 3 years prior supervisory experience in a manufacturing operationProficient computer skills with Microsoft applications and SAP (Ideal)Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, bilingual (English/French required)Strong interpersonal relationship skillsProven leadership skills in a fast paced, high stress environmentStrong mechanical aptitudeExperience with capital/project managementExperience with operations accounting and budgetingExperience dealing with Hazardous Materials
