Others include: the expansion of the Panama Canal, and the Al Bayt 2022 World Cup Stadium in Qatar.Some of our current notable projects in Canada: include the Pape Tunnel Underground Station section of the Ontario Line, RSSOM and Hurontario LRTIn anticipation of a project that will commence in the summer of 2025, we are seeking candidates for the role of Health and Safety Manager.POSITION SUMMARYThe Health and Safety Manager will be responsible for providing leadership, technical support and advice on all aspects of H&S; help assess the implementation of the H&S Program within the workplace, and as required, developing and/or providing related training.Responsibilities:Develop health and safety policies, practices, procedures, standards and programs for employee and passenger activitiesOversee regulatory affairs; and emergency preparedness, ensuring business continuity systems are in placeEnsures fulfillment of H&S requirements at construction site, following health and safety (H&S) plan in compliance with Company standards, customer requirements and Government regulationsPrepares weekly and monthly statistical H&S reportsProvides assistance in the implementation and update of the health and safety planProvides assistance in identification of risks and definition of control measures (through safe work procedure, Job Safety Analysis, field level hazard assessments)Carries out and records regular safety audits and safety inspectionsProvides assistance in Tool-box talksRecords and investigates accidents and incidents; performs Root Cause Analysis on H&S issuesCoordinates health and safety, aspects of site activitiesProvides site specific orientation trainingCoordinates First Aid rescue, First Aid responders and Fire Protection programsEnsures ISO 45001 and COR programs are maintained at siteCoordinates with Workers Compensation as requiredQualifications and Education:Proven experience as Health and Safety Manager7+ years of experience leading a major construction projectMust be knowledgeable of the following construction Health and Safety Officer: NCSO-IHSA; or Canadian Registered Professional (CRSP); or demonstrated equivalentDiploma/certificate in Occupational Health and SafetyMust be trained in and/or have knowledge of EHS Management Systems including ISO 45001 and COR certification programsMust have completed a recognized First Aid course/CPRMust have a strong understanding of the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations and implementation in a construction environment.Must be proficient with MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint).
