Health and Safety ManagerLocation: Toronto, ONIndustry: Construction & DevelopmentEmployment Type: Full-TimeAbout the OpportunityOur client, a well-established and forward-thinking leader in the construction and development sector, is seeking a proactive Health and Safety Manager to oversee and continuously improve health and safety initiatives across multiple projects. This organization has built a reputation for delivering complex, large-scale developments while upholding the highest safety standards.The ideal candidate will bring a strategic mindset, extensive experience in high-rise and large-scale construction environments, and the ability to foster a culture of safety excellence from the ground up.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the development, implementation, and maintenance of the companys health and safety policies, ensuring full compliance with all relevant legislative and regulatory requirements.Conduct regular site audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and ensure corrective actions are implemented.Develop and deliver training programs to employees, contractors, and subcontractors to reinforce safety best practices and regulatory compliance.Collaborate with project managers, site supervisors, and external stakeholders to integrate safety initiatives into day-to-day operations.Monitor incident reports, investigate workplace accidents, and recommend improvements to prevent reoccurrences.Stay informed of emerging health and safety trends, legislative updates, and industry best practices, ensuring continuous improvement of safety programs.Prepare and present safety performance reports and metrics to senior leadership.QualificationsMinimum 7+ years of experience in a health and safety leadership role within the construction industry, with a focus on mid- to high-rise projects.Certification in Occupational Health and Safety (e.g., CRSP, CHSO, or equivalent).In-depth knowledge of Ontarios health and safety regulations, codes, and standards.Proven ability to develop and deliver safety training programs across all organizational levels.Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage, motivate, and influence team members.Exceptional problem-solving skills with a proactive and hands-on approach.Valid Ontario drivers license and willingness to travel to multiple job sites as required.Why Join?Opportunity to work with an innovative, growth-oriented company managing landmark projects.Be part of a team that genuinely prioritizes employee wellbeing and safety.Competitive salary, benefits package, and career development opportunities.
