Job SummaryAcumen is seeking a driven and knowledgeable NERC Compliance Manager to join our team (remote position with travel to client sites required). The ideal candidate will be responsible for guiding our clients in achieving and maintaining compliance with North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) Standards, Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) Standards, and various Regional criteria pertaining to power system reliability.The successful candidate must have a degree in Electrical Engineering, Business, or related discipline, with experience in the electric utility industry, specifically pertaining to Reliability Compliance and NERC Standards.We have clients across North America and travel is required for this position. The successful candidate must be able to obtain the appropriate work permits.Responsibilities and DutiesRegulatory CompliancePlan, organize and provide consulting services to clients for Acumens Regulatory Compliance Practice AreaConduct regular audits and assessments to ensure clients' compliance with FERC, NERC, and Regional Reliability StandardsCoordinate evidence collection and management for various NERC functional entity clientsIdentify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with compliance issuesDevelop and implement tailored compliance policies and proceduresStay up to date with regulatory changes and updates, ensuring clients ongoing compliancePrepare and submit necessary reports and documentation to regulatory authorities on behalf of clientsDeliver training and educational programs to client teams on compliance standards and requirementsActively participate in industry working groups and forums to stay updated on evolving standards and best practicesMarketing & Business DevelopmentAnalyze opportunities in accordance with established Acumen market plans in order to identify potential clientsAnalyze potential client requirements and assist in developing/delivering competitive proposalsParticipate in meetings, seminars, conferences, and other general marketing activitiesAssist with the development and documentation of market strategiesGeneralProject/client managementWillingness to learn other Acumen services such as operational technology, cyber security, and energy solutions/servicesQualifications and SkillsBachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, Business, or related disciplineMinimum 5-10 years experience in the electric utility industryGeneral working knowledge of power system operations, transmission, generation, distribution, and an understanding of power systems engineeringExperience with FERC/NERC Reliability Standards and the various Regional criteriaUnderstanding of electric system engineering technical issues and operationsKnowledgeable in Regulatory obligations, organization and processes in the utility sector, and ability to evaluate and interpret new or evolving reliability standardsKnowledgeable in NERC audit processes including NERC RSAW development and audit evidence collectionExperience in consulting, sales and marketing preferredProject management experienceExceptional interpersonal and relationship management skillsExceptional verbal and written communication skillsAnalytical thinking and critical problem-solving skillsStrong attention to detailExcellent organizational and time management skillsMust pass a criminal, cross-identity and financial security clearance checkWorking EnvironmentWork is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment with minimal physical effort required; remote work scheduleVisits to industrial client sites required; appropriate personal protective equipment will be providedThe candidate must be capable and willing to travel anywhere in North America or internationally by commercial airline, auto, or other designated mode of transportation, on relatively short noticeAcumen is committed to accessibility in employment and to ensuring equal access to employment opportunities for candidates, including persons with disabilities.
