We hold ourselves and all stakeholders to a high standard of diversity equity and inclusion, because anything else is unacceptable.Overall ResponsibilitiesReporting to the Manager, Research and lnnovation the Researcher's primary function will besupporting the research driven corporate goals and objectives of the company, and conducting in-depth reviews on ingredients, products and manufacturers to support new product innovation. The Researcher will support the process to conceptualize and propose new, innovative products (based on research) for the company to develop. They will follow potential products through the development phases, including idea identification, scoping, and development. Strong communication skills will be employed through liaising with marketing, regulatory, R&D, and finance personnel to identify optimal product development pathways and feasibility.Specific Key Responsibilities & DutiesConduct extensive literature and market competitor reviews on current and new ingredients/productsReview scientific technical material from raw ingredient and finished product suppliersPrepare research based safety and efficacy documents for regulatory submissions and provideresearch support in product amendment processProvide scientific and technical support to marketing for claim development and substantiationMonitor and prepare monthly reports of selected journals, industry reports and other databaseslnitiate internal sampling programs and liaise with external contract research organizations tofurther Jamieson's research programsWork with buyers to source desired new raw materialsLiaise with third party manufacturers as needed for all steps of the raw product launch processPlan and execute internal studies to assess potential products and ingredientsPropose new formulas for products based on research and marketing objectives; optimizeformulation with R&DSurvey marketplace to purchase competitor products for competitor review purposesHealth & Safety Policies/SOPs including but not limited to the Safety Responsibilities ProcedureWill comply with Good Manufacturing Practices in all GMP sensitive areas of JamiesonLaboratories Ltd. facilitiesOther duties and projects as deemed necessaryKnowledge, Skills & Abilities RequirementsBachelor of Science in Life Sciences, Nutrition, Biomedical Sciences or relatedResearch minded with critical thinking skillsWorking knowledge of MS Office, significant experience with literature search enginesExcellent technical writing skills and good grammar and punctuationExemplary communication, bilingual (English/French) desirableAble to work, learn and think accurately in a fast paced, dynamic, multitasking environment andnetworking skillsOur ValuesACCOUNTABILITY: We do what we say.
