This is a second-floor opportunity (on a space elevator) for those seeking to build the future of clean, compact energy.About the RoleWere seeking a Quality Assurance Manager to lead the development and implementation of our Quality Management System (QMS) and ensure our nuclear systems are delivered with uncompromising safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance.Youll work directly with the COO, Reactor Engineering team, and external stakeholders to ensure that QA processes meet the rigorous standards expected in the nuclear sector, while adapting to the fast-moving demands of an early-stage environment.Experience in Canadian nuclear quality frameworks (e.g., CSA N286, CSA N299) is strongly preferred. Candidates from other regulated industriespharmaceutical, aerospace, or defencewith robust QA backgrounds will also be considered.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and implement a fit-for-purpose Quality Management System from the ground upEnsure compliance with Canadian nuclear regulatory standards and liaise with organizations such as CNSC, AECL, and CNLConduct internal audits, supplier assessments, non-conformance investigations, and continuous improvement initiativesDevelop documentation, records, and processes aligned with industry best practices and controlled goods requirementsCollaborate cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, and regulatory teams to embed quality throughout the lifecycleSupport regulatory filings and third-party certification effortsBuild and lead a growing QA function within the companyQualifications & Skills7+ years experience in Quality Assurance or QMS leadership in highly regulated industriesDirect experience with nuclear sector QA/QC in Canada is preferredExperience with Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and eligibility for security clearance is an assetSolid knowledge of CSA N286, N299, ISO 9001, or NQA-1 frameworksExperience with documentation systems, audit processes, and regulatory engagementStrong leadership, organizational, and communication skillsAbility to thrive in a startup environment and move through complex, non-linear problemsPassion for space, energy, and applied scienceWhat We OfferA high-impact role at the ground floor of a mission-driven startupOpportunity to shape the quality culture of one of Canadas most ambitious clean energy companiesWork with leading scientists and engineers in nuclear, space, and defenceCompetitive salary, equity participation, and growth opportunitiesA collaborative team that values integrity, imagination, and resilienceJoin UsWe have an affinity for diverse people and unconventional thinkers.
