Our guiding principles shape how we work with our clients, one another, and our partners.Under the direction of the Director Corporate Services, the Finance Manager is responsible for overseeing the Agencys financial accounting and reporting systems, payroll preparation and administration, budget preparation, project management accounting, insurance and risk management, procurement and contract management, financial reporting and compliance with legislation and Ministry directives with respect to financial accountability.RESPONSABILITIES:Manage the Financial operations of the Agency, such as payroll, benefits, budget, accounts receivable and payable, banking, Finance department staff and other transactionsReport on Agency operations, developing and presenting financial reports and statistical dataProvide advice and guidance to Senior Leadership on matters of financial concernConsult with the Senior Leadership and Management Teams regarding salary gridsPrepare monthly and quarterly reports for Senior Leadership and Board of DirectorsAssist with the preparation of new and existing funding applicationsPreparation of audit files and annual audited financial statements and liaise with the financial auditorsPrepare annual tax return, and semi-annual HST rebate filingsEstablish and maintain financial policies and procedures for the AgencyDevelop and implement staff recruitment, orientation, reintegration, succession planning and training for Finance departmentMaintain Agency standards by providing input on critical problems, participating in decision-making affecting entire Agency, and formulating Agency stances on vital issues Adhere to legislative requirements, policies and procedures, funding body criteria, and professional and Agency standardsEnsure compliance with purchasing and procurement policies of the Agency and any requirements of the government and funding bodiesEnsure appropriate contracts in place with service providersLead any competitive bid situations for the Agency from a process perspectiveContract outside services for auditing, banking, insurance, legal advice and other needs as necessaryMaintain knowledge of all financial and data collection requirementsMaintain knowledge of all Agency databases and software programsMaintain professional and technical knowledge by pursuing professional developmentImprove the quality of services by participating in various internal and external committees, advising and guiding the committee on agency operations, developing and presenting reports, and making recommendations to support committees in their roleProvide support to managements negotiating committee in collective bargainingQUALIFICATIONS:Completion of Bachelor or Masters Degree or Canadian equivalent in commerce, accounting or businessMinimum of 3 years experience working as a CPA, with managerial work experienceChartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation required, with membership in good standing with the Chartered Professional Accountants of OntarioWork in a computerized environment, knowledge of Excel, Word, Sage, Enterprise (time management software) and Payworks (payroll software)Maintain sensitive and confidential informationAssess priorities, analyse and solve problemsDemonstrate organisational skills and ability to meet deadlinesDemonstrate the ability to develop a sound appreciation and knowledge of the Agencys functions and organizational structureAbility to work collaboratively with other experienced professionals including school boards, colleagues of other health and social service agencies, local politicians, etc.Ability to work independentlyPossess strong verbal and written communication, preferably in both official languagesSuccessful applicants will be required to provide:Proof of eligibility to work in CanadaA valid Ontario drivers license and use of a reliable motor vehicle; insurability on vehicle as per policyClear Criminal Record CheckBenefits include:Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP)Paid vacationPaid float daysPaid sick leaveDental, Vision and Extended Health benefitsLife and Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) insuranceLong Term Disability (LTD) InsuranceEmployee & Family Assistance Program (EFAP)On-site parking (paid by employer)We offer one of Canada's best pension plansWe are proud to participate in the Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP), offering our valued employees the security and peace of mind that comes with a defined benefit pension plan.
