Technician (Crane Projects) Location: Pickering Nuclear Generating Station Pickering, ON On-Site: Monday - Friday Duration: 1 Year (Can be extended annually) Hourly Rate: $45 $65/hour Vacancies: 4 Job Summary: We are seeking 4 experienced Crane Technicians to support operations at the Pickering Nuclear Generating Station. The ideal candidates will have prior experience working with overhead cranes, lifting and rigging equipment, and related mechanical/electrical systemswith a strong preference for those who have worked on Ontario Power Generation (OPG) sites. This is a hands-on, site-based role, requiring a high level of technical skill, safety awareness, and familiarity with OPGs standards and practices. Key Responsibilities: Perform inspection, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of cranes and lifting equipment. Support rigging and lifting operations to ensure safety and compliance with OPG procedures. Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues related to crane systems. Maintain detailed service records and inspection reports in accordance with OPG documentation protocols. Collaborate with site supervisors, engineers, and other trades to ensure work is performed safely and efficiently. Qualifications: Proven experience as a Crane Technician or in a similar role working with industrial cranes and lifting equipment. Previous experience at OPG sites is strongly preferred. Knowledge of OPG safety standards, nuclear work environments, and site procedures. Familiarity with both mechanical and electrical systems associated with cranes. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and safety procedures. Strong attention to detail, communication, and teamwork skills. Certifications in crane safety, rigging, or fall protection are considered assets.
