Job Description

North-Wood Group is looking for an experienced and well-rounded journeymen or 3rd/4th year apprentice, personable who is hard-working, and physically capable person to join us as an Experienced Commercial Transport or Heavy Duty Mechanic. Our facility repairs all types of equipment and trucks with a large focus on all aspects of repairs to our own fleet of over 60 pieces of Commercial Trucks, Light Trucks and Heavy Equipment. As well we provide service and repairs to customer owned units. Location: Kamloops You will be reporting directly to the Owner. Skills Required: Committed to safety Outstanding customer service Able to listen, communicate and take direction Able to work individually and as a team Detail orientated with strong interpersonal skills Duties include: Coordinating with supervisors, administration, and workers, for the purpose of completing all work orders efficiently and effectively. Work under limited supervision, leading, guiding and working with others, as required. Maintains job work orders; keeps records of labour, materials, parts, supplies and other records necessary in the repair and maintenance process; controls the release of serviced and repaired vehicles. Test, troubleshoot, diagnose, adjust, and replace, parts and equipment/controls as required. Perform scheduled and preventative maintenance of all equipment or assets. Comprehend equipment manuals, diagrams, and schematic drawings Basic computer knowledge and ability to complete reports as required Keep your work areas, benches, and toolboxes clean and organized. Complete CVIP inspections preferred but not mandatory. Qualifications: Mechanical: 5 years (preferred) Journeyman (preferred) Class 5 Licence (required) or Class 3 or 1 (an asset) Commercial Vehicle Inspection License (preferred) Welding experience (an asset) This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday two weeks of dayshift with a possible rotation to two weeks of Tuesday to Saturday day shift with opportunity for field work. You may be required to come in earlier or stay later depending on daily facility demands. After three months of continuous employment, you have the option to join our Medical and Dental benefits package and RRSP matching program. Pay: $42-$55 per hour
