Position: VP, PhilanthropySupervisor: Chief Executive OfficerLocation: Flexible within CanadaHR Made EZ is working exclusively with a dynamic not for profit in the environmental resources area. JOB DESCRIPTION Reporting to CEO, the VP, Philanthropy will lead our clients fundraising strategy, helping us to scale our efforts of fundraising to $5-$8 million annually across corporate, foundation, major gifts and individual donors, as well as lead exploration of conservation finance models. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the environment and for driving investment into nature restoration, stewardship, and community engagement. The VP, Fundraising will be a strategic partner to the CEO, executive team, and Board of Directors, and will drive funder partnership development to enable the organization to increase its efforts to conserve, restore and grow Canadas environment.RESPONSIBILITIESLead the business development team, acting as a mentor and coach to drive a culture of high performance and creativity, while overseeing fundraising performance management, accountability, and professional development. Provide organizational leadership and strategic advice as a member of the executive team, helping to drive a shared vision of diverse, resilient, thriving business across the organization. Lead the fundraising strategy including the pursuit of high-value funding opportunities to close the nature restoration funding gap and meet organizational strategic outcomes.Provide leadership and drive innovation in the exploration of alternative funding models, leveraging experience and expertise from external partners and board members.Confidently communicate the long-term impacts to potential investors and funders, drawing from multiple program teams to develop strong proof points.Explore and approach Indigenous-led initiatives and partnership opportunities with humility and willingness to listen and collaborate.Maintain a thorough understanding of our restoration, stewardship and engagement work, staying up to date with environmental trends.Communicate externally and internally about the importance of fundraising for the environment and its impact on communities and people.Oversee the budget for the business development team, ensuring effective use of resources and meeting revenue targets.Drive impactful collaboration across teams and with external partners, developing a national network of funder relationships.Support government relations efforts through effective communications, representing the organization, and the development of proposals.Attend events, cultivate relationships, and represent the organization to build a national network of donors, corporations, foundations and government funders.REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION:University Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Media or related program, or equivalent life experience.At least 5 years of experience in leading fundraising strategies, corporate engagement, and foundation outreach, with at least 3 years at the executive level.Passion for collaborating and contributing to conservation efforts at a national scale.Strong relationship building skills to cultivate and maintain a professional national network of funders across Canada.Self-motivated professional, with the ability to motivate and influence others to achieve desired outcomes.Advanced skills in program development, including general finance and budgeting.Demonstrated skills or lived experiences in developing meaningful relationships.Experience or strong interest in Indigenous engagement, knowledge and relationship building.Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of partners, clients, and stakeholders.Experience in the MS Office suite, database applications, online meeting platforms (Teams, Zoom), etc.Problem solving, organization, and decision management skills.Ability to work independently and excellent time management skills.Experience and willingness to travel for work.ADDITIONAL ASSESTSCertified Fund-Raising Executive (CFRE) designation an asset but not required.Experience working in a non-profit organization.Experience with Salesforce or other CRM software.Bilingual in French and English considered an asset.Valid G Drivers License and/or comfortable with travel.We thank all applicants for their interest, only those selected for an interview will be contacted.HR Made EZ and their clients welcomes all applicants.
