Through our food bank and ASPIRE programs, we provide nourishment, dignity, and hope to vulnerable families. Were seeking an organized and compassionate Administrative Assistant to keep our Surrey operations running smoothlyensuring every client and volunteer feels supported. Role Snapshot As the Administrative Assistant , youll be the friendly face and logistical backbone of our Surrey food bank. From managing client intake to coordinating volunteer schedules, your attention to detail will directly impact our ability to serve the community efficiently. What Youll Do Client & Volunteer Support: Greet visitors, answer phone/email inquiries, and assist with client intake processes. Maintain accurate records of food distribution and client interactions. Help schedule and onboard volunteers for daily operations. Administrative Coordination: Update databases (inventory, client info) and prepare reports for the team. Assist with light bookkeeping, such as tracking donations or petty cash. Order office/food bank supplies and organize storage areas. Community Connection: Distribute flyers or event reminders to local partners (mosques, shelters). Support outreach initiatives like holiday food drives or fundraising campaigns. What You Bring Experience: 1+ year in administration, customer service, or nonprofit work (food bank experience a plus). Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and basic data entry. Strong communicationable to interact kindly with diverse clients and volunteers. Fluency in English (additional languages common in Surrey, e.g., Punjabi, Arabic, Urdu, valued). Traits: Reliable, punctual, and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Physically able to lift up to 20 lbs (for occasional stock/organization tasks).
