GPO Director of CommunicationsPosition: Director of CommunicationsOrganization: Green Party of Ontario (Hybrid; home and Toronto Type: Permanent, Full time Start Date: As soon as possibleDescription: The GPO is looking for an experienced and strategically minded Director of Communications to join our senior leadership team. The selected candidate will work collaboratively to develop and execute the Party’s strategic communications plan and will work directly with our elected MPPs. Responsibilities Manage, support and provide mentorship to staff on the GPO communications teamProvide strategic comms advice and direction to MPPs and senior team membersDevelop and implement communications and media relations strategies and lead the team on the development of all messaging and communications materialsWork with the team to build strong relationships with provincial media and other stakeholders Identify issues that may have an effect on the Party and its MPPs and provide risk analysis Support the team with and oversee the creation of all content development (social media, print, web, etc.)Work with MPPs and senior team to develop priorities for the Party and MPPs Manage the department’s budget and allocate resources to meet Party goalsQualifications3 years of experience as a senior manager in a communications positionA strategic thinker and project manager with the ability to set priorities.Ability to lead and motivate a team and to foster a collaborative working environment.Ability to communicate persuasively, both written and orallyUnderstanding of and interest in Ontario politicsAbility to adapt and change course when balancing competing prioritiesPassion & commitment to social and environmental change in OntarioTo Apply:Interviews will be conducted on a rolling basis, applicants are encouraged to apply as soon as possible for consideration.
