Omega Food Importers is a recognized industry leader specializing in importing European foods to Canada.We are currently looking for aFull-time Buyer Assistant.The ideal candidate will be competent in prioritizing and working with little supervision. This role will be based out of our Mississauga location.The primary responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:Communicating with vendors and freight forwarders on daily basisRequesting and reviewing quotations from established vendorsGenerating and issuing POsNegotiating prices, discounts, credit terms and transportation arrangements with suppliersReviewing invoices and updating information in the systemManaging and updating data in ERP system, including but not limited to, price, quantity, product information, order details, vendor informationTracking the progress for each purchase order until the shipment arrivesReviewing paperwork for received orders and reporting damages and discrepancies to suppliersWorking with accounts payable team to resolve invoicing issuesCreating presentations and communicating inventory and price changes to the sales teamOther duties as assignedSkills and Experience Required:Proficient in English language (full proficiency in reading, writing, listening and speaking required)Proficient in Polish language (basic or good proficiency in reading, writing, listening and speaking required)Detail oriented and works with a high degree of accuracyAbility to multitask and meet changing deadlinesAbility to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlinesAbility to perform repetitive tasksMust be self-directed and able to complete projects with limited supervisionGood knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and competency to learn other technology as necessary2 years or more related experienceMinimum: Bachelor degree or equivalentThank you for your interest in joining Omega Food Importers.
